PREPARATION & PRIMING
PREPARING THE SURFACE
INSPECTION & CLEANING: Sand blast the surface if necessary. Clean the pool shell with a high pressure cleaner 4000 psi or higher. Ensure that the pool shell is clean and free of contaminants.
PATCHING: Use the method detailed below.
PRIMING: Prime the pool shell with a mix of 1 part Plastinex Black Label to 4 Parts water OR use Morgan Universal Primer directly. Vigorously brush the mix into the pool shell.
PREPARING THE RENDERING MATERIALS
KEYING MIX: Mix Powergrip White to a light consistency with 1 part Plastinex Black Label to 1 part water.
RENDER MORTAR: Dry mix thoroughly 1 part GP Cement to 4 parts plasterer’s sand. To wet the dry mix and to achieve a workable mortar, add a sufficient volume of a premix of 1 part Plastinex Black Label to 2 parts water.
PATCHING & RENDERING THE POOL
METHOD: Horizontally apply the keying mix onto the primed pool shell using a 5mm trowel and immediately apply the render mortar. APPLY THE RENDER MORTAR TO A WET KEYING MIX ONLY.
HYDRATION: 24 hours after the render mortar has set, apply by spray or brush, a mix of 1 part Plastinex Black Label to 4 parts water. Allow the render mortar to cure until the next morning.
TILING
For mosaics use Morgan One Pack Mastic (OPM). For general pool tiles use Powergrip White modified with Plastinex Black Label diluted 1:1 with water. Work small areas at a time protecting the area from harsh environmental conditions.
GROUTING
For a superior finish, use Morgan Architectural Grout modified with Grout Add. Work small areas at a time protecting the area from harsh environmental conditions.
